Chinese links strengthened

James Heathcote, Associate Director – Private Client Advisory, attended the first Private Client Dining (‘PCD’) Club dinner in Shanghai last week, as Lancaster Knox seeks to build ties and strengthen existing relationships with China and the Far East.

“China has experienced rapid growth of wealth in recent years”, says James. “Huge amounts of Chinese investment continue to flow into the UK, but at the same time the pace of change of UK tax legislation is increasing. We are still seeing strong demand for advice on acquiring UK real estate, which for non-UK residents should be done with care to avoid falling foul of UK tax law.”

The Shanghai PCD event attracted guests from Europe, the Far East and the US across a wide range of private client sectors. James was joined by Knox House Trust director, Patrick McCarrick, and they would be delighted to discuss with you any queries, concerns or observations.

James will be attending the PCD Dinner in Guernsey on 15 May. Please do not hesitate to contact him should you wish to arrange a meeting.
